Let's start by assuming that the recipient of your letter is a girl and her name is Maria.

How to get started?

This one is easy, it starts with a very simple “Dear Maria,” and a new line.

Sometimes the simplest solution is also the best, there is no need to overdo it.

Why are you writing this letter?

Continue explaining the reason for your letter, it doesn't have to be a sensational reason, even the most banal motivation is fine... Here are some examples:

• I'm writing you this letter, even though it's not like me, because I want to surprise you and remind you how important you are to me.
• I am writing you this letter because Valentine's Day is coming up and I have decided to give you an original gift: a simple letter that you can keep forever.
• I am writing you this letter because I want to express in words all the love that I show you every day with my gestures and with my presence.

What to say?

Try to explain why Maria is so important to you and do so by answering these questions: what are the things you appreciate most about her? What has she taught you that is new? What has changed in you since she has been in your life? What would you miss about her if she were not here? How do you imagine the future with her?

Example:

• You are an energetic and overwhelming girl, you put passion into everything you do… And this enthusiasm manages to involve all the people around you, including me! Thank you for your contagious desire to live.
• You taught me to appreciate more the things I have without always thinking about what I lack, and all this thanks to our long chats…
• Since we met, everything has a new flavor, I can see things with more optimism and I have found my desire to do things again.
• If you weren't there everything would be different, I would probably have more time for myself but I would miss all the little things we started to share.

Important:

What makes a letter authentic and original is precisely what I cannot suggest to you, that is, anecdotes and peculiarities of your relationship that only you know: try to remember them and add them to reinforce some concepts. Example:

• Do you remember that time our car broke down a few kilometers from the campsite? Without you I would have gone berserk and started that vacation in the worst possible way, but instead you smiled at me and oh well… We drank a beer while waiting for the mechanic.
