How do you clean a silver bracelet? Let's see together how to do it at home, at no cost and with satisfactory results.
There are many silver cleaners on the market but we have not tried them all, we do not know them thoroughly and we do not feel like recommending a product if we are not 100% sure that it will be effective. In this article we will see a DIY solution useful for polishing and restoring slightly damaged jewelry.
It is important to note that only a new plating can cover major defects such as oxidation, dark spots and color loss. No amount of home cleaning will make them look like new, but a simple cleaning every now and then is definitely a great way to make your jewelry last longer!
You need:
- Small basin
- Warm water
- Neutral or Marseille soap
- Microfiber cloth (the cloth you use to polish your glasses is perfect)
Procedure:
Lightly soap your fingers and rub the bracelet or bracelets you want to clean, immerse them in the basin with warm water and rinse well: you will have to remove all soap residue. Finally, dry everything with a soft cloth.
If the bracelet has pendants, tags or joints where soap can stagnate, concentrate on those points and dry them first. If there are multiple pendants, avoid them touching each other or you will cause scratches. Make sure you have dried all your jewelry well, they do not like humidity.
This quick and easy solution will make your silver bracelets shine. It won't work miracles... But we assure you that if done consistently, it will make a difference .
Remember to do this kind of cleaning on your bracelets at least twice a year, maybe you can make this ritual coincide with the change of wardrobe. So you don't forget!
